Ward Scholarship, $10,000 Graduating high school seniors in Wake, Durham, Orange, or Chatham counties planning to attend a four-year public or private college or university in North Carolina. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 with demonstrated commitment to community service and family financial need. Carol Ann Beerstecher Nursing Scholarship, $5,000-$10,000 Resident of Chatham, Durham, Orange, Wake or Person County, North Carolina for at least 12 months, current nursing student or have been admitted to a nursing program at an accredited institution in North Carolina offering an associate or baccalaureate degree in nursing. Must have a proven financial need and a 2.0 GPA.
Elizabeth Marie Roberts Scholarship, $8,000Graduating seniors from Northern High School, Riverside High School, Voyager Academy, or Durham School of the Arts. Must be accepted into any public state university or college in North Carolina, Watts School of Nursing, or Durham Technical Community College and have a minimum GPA of 2.5 with demonstrated family financial need. GSK Opportunity Scholarship, Up to $20,000Reside in Chatham, Durham, Orange, or Wake counties for a minimum of one year. Attend a public state university or community college in NC. Applicants should demonstrate the potential to succeed despite adversity as well as an exceptional desire to improve himself or herself through further education or training.iContact Foundation Scholarship, Up to $20,000 1) Have been employed by iContact at any time, 2) be the child (biological, foster, adopted, or step) of an iContact employee at any time, or 3) be a person living in Chatham, Durham, Orange, or Wake county who is majoring in computer science, business or entrepreneurship, economics, or marketing and communications. Scholarship recipients are selected based on demonstrated financial need, community involvement and leadership, and academic merit. Joseph Nystrom Working Student Scholarship, Up to $16,000Students in Orange, Wake, Durham, Chatham, or Alamance counties who are working at least part-time while in school and have demonstrated financial need. Juanita McNeil West End Scholarship, $2,000Graduating high school seniors in Durham County with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and demonstrated financial need. Residents of the West End Community (zip codes 27701 and 27707) are encouraged to apply and will be given preference. NC American Indian Fund Scholarship, $1,000Enrolled in a state- or federally-recognized tribe (with documentation), demonstrate sustained involvement in the American Indian Community and commitment to American Indian concerns and initiatives, and have family residency in the state. Be currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a post-secondary institution in North Carolina, maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA, and plan to pursue a two-year or four-year undergraduate degree as a full-time student at an accredited public, private, or technical college or university. Shaver-Hitchings Scholarship, $1,500 Resident of Durham, Orange, Wake, or Chatham counties and be enrolled or planning to enroll in graduate school, a physician assistant program, or medical school. Applicants should have experience serving those with substance abuse disorder or with preventive education on the subject of addiction. Ruby Ennis Maynard Scholarship, $2,500 Single mothers or female heads of household in Chatham, Durham, Orange, Wake or Onslow counties. Applicants should demonstrate a desire to improve their skills to succeed in their current career or to change careers. Triangle Scholarship Fund, $10,000 One high school senior and one adult learner in Chatham, Durham, Orange, or Wake counties planning to attend a public or private college or university in North Carolina. Must have a 2.5 GPA and demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to improving their community through volunteer work, work experience, and/or future aspirations and plans.
