With the summer approaching soon, we want to share information about the college enrichment opportunities that could be of interest to VAHS students. NCSU will host three pre-college programs for rising juniors and seniors to learn about higher education opportunities and cultural reinforcement. This is for students to find and build a strong sense of community while also preparing for the college application process and university experience. CAMINOS: Your Journey to College is geared towards students who identify as Hispanic or Latinx or have an interest in the culture. The program will be held from June 18-22.
Native Education Forum is geared towards students who identify as Native American or American Indian or have an interest in the culture. The program will be held from June 18-24.
Emerging Scholars Academy is geared towards students who identify as Black or African American or have an interest in the culture. The program will be held from June 25-July 1.
All summer programs will be in person, and students will stay in residence halls for their participation. Students with a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.4 or higher or are in the top 15% of their class and are interested in pursuing college should apply. The deadline to apply is Friday, April 7. For more information, visit the Pre-College Programs website.
