Two New Guaranteed Admissions Pathways

Durham Tech has two new guaranteed admissions pathways joining C-STEP (UNC Chapel Hill) and C3 (NC State):  Pirate Promise (ECU) and Pathway to Excellence  (UNCW). Both programs offer extra academic advising from the universities, invitations to participate in events on campus, and guaranteed admissions to students who attend full time and maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA with C’s or above in all classes.

Pirate Promise is a guaranteed admissions pathway to ECU. It is open to university transfer, College and Career Promise, Middle College High School, Early Childhood Education, Associate of Applied Science students in technical programs wishing to get a BS in Industrial Technology (see BSIT qualifying AAS degrees here), and RN to BSN students.  Cameron Burroughs of ECU will lead a short, virtual information session on the program on Friday, September 11, at 11:00 am.  Click here to register: Pirate Promise Info Session.

Pathway to Excellence is for Associate in Arts and Associate in Science students who wish to transfer to UNC Wilmington.  Students can watch a tutorial on how to submit their Pathway to Excellence agreement here.

Next C-STEP Application Deadline: October 1

If UNC Chapel Hill is your goal, C-STEP may help you get there. Students who are admitted through a competitive application process, maintain a 3.2 GPA, attend full time, and graduate on time are guaranteed admission to UNC’s College of Arts and Sciences.  The next application deadline is October 1.  Here’s a link to the application and more information
