Hello from Guilford College, I’m writing to let you know about Guilford’s upcoming Open House at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2022. We’d love to meet your students, so I hope you’ll share this information with your senior class. While here, they'll take a tour of campus and learn more about academics and team advising. They'll also have the opportunity to get to know their Admission Counselor during a farm-fresh meal in the Dining Hall and enjoy a dessert food truck after dinner. Plus, those interested will receive free tickets to the first home game of the Guilford football season! In addition, we're offering on-site admission to students ready to apply for fall 2023. Those interested should bring a copy of their high-school transcript; unofficial versions are acceptable. Stevens Pre-College Programs: 2021 Summer Pre-College Virtual Program Fair

 Current high school students and education professionals are invited to register for the 2021 Summer Pre-College Virtual Program Fair, taking place February 3rd, from 7:00PM to 9:30PM EST. Attendees will have the opportunity to connect with representatives from leading US colleges and universities such as Stevens Institute of Technology, to learn more about Summer 2021 academic programs for high school students. 

• Visit virtual booths, where you can ask questions via video or text chat with summer program representatives. 
• View helpful webinars on how to choose a summer program, how to strengthen your application, how to make the most out of your summer program experience.

Virtual App State Durham County Visit

 On Wednesday, October 27th at 4:00pm, (tomorrow) Emiline Greer, the Assistant Director of Admissions for Appalachian State is hosting a Virtual App State Durham County Public Schools Visit. Students are welcomed to join her to chat about App State and the admissions process. Learn about Amherst from current students from the Carolinas!

Please join me, your regional admission dean for the Carolinas, as well as current Amherst students for a virtual information session on Zoom on either Tuesday, September 22 at 12:00 PM EDT or on Saturday, October 3 at 10:00 AM EDT. These hour-long sessions will include a brief overview of Amherst College and the admission and financial aid application process and will then offer an opportunity for you to hear from current Amherst students from the Carolinas! We will answer as many of your questions as we can throughout each session. There will be time to connect individually with the representatives following the presentations. ECU Fall Open House and Campus Tours

Fall Open House At East Carolina, we know that the best way to learn about our university is to visit, and there’s no better time than at our Fall Open House. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, September 22. Fall Open House is open to all prospective students and their families and friends. Attendees have the opportunity to take a walking tour of campus, visit residence halls, learn about student life, browse the Academic and Student Affairs Fair, and chat with East Carolina faculty members from most academic departments. Special sessions on important topics such as admissions requirements, financial aid, options for transfer students, and choosing a major will be offered. Campus Tours are offered daily tours Monday-Friday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Visitors enjoy a thirty minute information session followed by an hour and a half walking tour of campus. Registration for campus tours can be found at www.ecu.edu/admissions/visit.

Admission Rep Visit: UNCG April 17 at 2:15 in the Commons

Any students interested in leaning about programs of study at UNCG are invited to meet with an admissions representative on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at 2:15 in the commons at VAHS. Students should see Ms. O'Kane for a pass to attend.

Durham Tech/NC State Admissions Rep. Visit

NC State and Durham Tech Are Teaming Up

An NC State degree can be both accessible and affordable when combined with two years of community college. Students can complete their Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, or Associate of Engineering degrees at Durham Tech and know they are well prepared to succeed in their major at NC State.

Come learn about how Durham Tech and NC State work together to create a seamless transition for transfer students.  Learn also about the Goodnight Scholars Program, which offers a full NC State scholarship to 15 community college transfer students each year. Last year two Durham Tech graduates were awarded this scholarship and are currently studying in NC State’s College of Engineering.

Representatives from both NC State and Durham Tech will be on VAHS campus Wednesday, April 18, at 2:00 in the commons. Parents are welcome to attend. Students should see Ms. O'Kane for a pass to attend this meeting.  

Raleigh National College Fair

The 2018 Raleigh National College Fair is coming up this Tuesday, March 20^th!  Nearly 200 institutions from across North Carolina, the US, and abroad will be in attendance to meet with our students.  A list of registered institutions is attached and can also be found HERE.

COST: There is no charge to attend.
