Last month, Common App and Reach Higher had the privilege of hosting former First Lady Michelle Obama for the 2019 Beating the Odds Summit, designed to inspire nearly 100 first-generation college-bound students to help them prepare for their college experience.
Highlights and important topics addressed during the Summit will soon be featured in an upcoming YouTube series called “A Student’s Guide to Your First Year of College.” Premiering on September 4, the 10-episode playlist will cover topics ranging from applying for financial aid, finding mentors, and living on your own as a first-year student.
