Vanessa Valdez is the Director of the Accounting Careers Awareness Program for the National Association of Black Accountants.
Every summer they have a residency program for 20 minority students who are interested in learning more about accounting at one of the universities within Charlotte. This year the program is on the UNCC campus from June 13-18 where students will be exposed to corporate industries in Charlotte and learn more about accounting, college, business etiquette, professional development and financial literacy from faculty at UNCC as well as professionals from different organizations. It is a free program that is funded by our corporate partners and one of the 20 students who are invited to attend receive a $500 scholarship.
