NCSSM Application Deadlines Jan 15, 2021

 10th Graders: 30 Days Left to Complete Your Application!

The application for the NCSSM Residential and Online Class of 2023, as well as for Summer Ventures 2021 opened on October 15. If you're in your second year of high school, you can start your application today at CFNC.org! The application deadline is 11:59 pm on January 15, but don't wait until January! We highly encourage everyone to get started as soon as possible if you haven't already. Winter Break would be a great time to work on (or better yet, finish!) your application. You can find more details and instructions on our website.

Also, remember that you can apply for NCSSM Online, NCSSM Residential, and Summer Ventures all in the same application. It doesn't hurt to apply for all three!

SECU Foundation Scholarships

 


SECU Foundation established the “People Helping People®” scholarship program to assist students across North Carolina with their educational goals. Since being established, the “People Helping People” scholarship program represents an annual commitment of over $5 million, with a collective total of over $71 million since the initial scholarship funding began in 2005.

SECU Foundation established the People Helping People four-year scholarship program to help North Carolina public high school students attend college. Each of the 115 North Carolina Local Education Agencies (LEAs)/School Districts will receive a minimum of one scholarship valued at $10,000 payable at $1,250 for up to eight consecutive semesters for a senior to attend one of the 16 constituent campuses of the University of North Carolina System.

Recipients of the scholarship will be selected by the VAHS Scholarship Selection Committee provided they meet all eligibility criteria. Scholarship recipient information must be submitted by the Scholarship Selection Committee at VAHS No individual applications are reviewed by the Foundation. Speak with your Ms. O'Kane, VAHS guidance counselor for more information about applying, requirements, and deadlines.

The Common Application is Mobile!

 







Common App is excited to share our new mobile application – Common App for mobile. Aspiring college students can now search for Common App member colleges, request recommendations, write essays, and submit their applications through the mobile app.
 
Over the last five years, we’ve seen a nearly 40% increase in mobile device use for the application, with more than 400,000 applications submitted on mobile devices last year. Common App for mobile furthers our commitment to access and equity in the college admission process by providing students with an additional access point to apply to college using their Android or iOS devices.

Each year, approximately 19 million people complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the application you have to fill out to access most forms of financial aid, including grants and federal student loans.

With so many people completing the FAFSA—many of them teenagers applying on their own—mistakes happen. Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarship

 





The Jackie Robinson Foundation scholarship application is now available!

The Jackie Robinson Foundation provides four-year scholarships of $30,000 and extensive support services, including career guidance and internship placement, to highly motivated African American students who have maintained a 98% college graduation rate. 


We appreciate your support by sharing this opportunity with students. The application closes at 5:00 pm ET on February 1, 2021.
